Gino's Gear:

I have invested a lot of time and research on what gets me "THE TONE" I'm looking for. I have to thank Jason Ricci for sharing his time and knowledge on the subject.

Amps:
I use a Victoria Bassman 45 watt 4-10's for bigger gigs. I have done similar mods as the Sonny jr Bassman, which makes it more harp and microphone-friendly.

I also use a Victoriette Bassman 25 watt 2-10's for medium size shows. This amp has a reverb tank. Nice effect for those minor tunes. For some reason this amp gets way better tone from the start. I'm not sure why.

I use an Alamo 5 watt 1-8 for studio and special effects situations. It lacks some bottom but has some certain tonal qualities that are useful (used on the Born in Chicago audio clip).

Mics:
My mics are ALL custom modified by Fritz Hasenpush. I use a low impedance, EV- 635A with a customized cord that has a built-in volume control. I'm going to be trying an EV-10 soon to see if I notice tonal or response differences.
I use a 1969 sure bullet with a volume control added to the mic and the air hole sealed to reduce feedback loop. I usually use this mic with the Victoriette. I have a Rod Piazza crystal mic I use as a back-up. My cords are all custom made by Fritz too.

Devices:
My personal favorite for getting great tone through "ANY" amp set up is the Kinder Anti-Feedback device. This piece of gear helps control feedback and generate tone all-in-one.
You have to keep fresh batteries in it at all times. It's a must ! I don't use it right now but I also like the effect of the Dan Electro Delay. The Dan Electro Delay helps were there's a lack of sustain
.

Harps:
Thanks to the sharing of their wealth of knowledge, Filisko, Sleigh, and Gordon have helped me to be able to modify my harps for better tone and performance...a must for anyone who wants to learn or use overblow techniques in their playing.

I start with special 20's (plastic comb), but nothing can compare to the superior craftsmanship of the Richard Sleigh Stradivarius Marine band (composite wood comb) harps!!! Great tone and performance ALWAYS start with the instrument and your technique. The Filisko method harps are "IT"... period!!! I also use harps by Rupert Oysler for minor key tunings. They are a great value and play very well.
